About us
ITCOMMS is an international PR agency for IT and technology companies. We work across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and Tajikistan.
The team is about 20 people, all remote. We are looking for someone in Tashkent — or someone from Tashkent who is living elsewhere for now.
Our clients are large international technology companies operating in the region, and local IT companies: from leaders of their own markets to rising names that need to be known outside their country.
Almost every project is a first of its kind — a product nobody here has had to explain before, or a market the client has never entered. There is often no template to follow, because nobody has one yet.
What that means for you
A year from now you could have work behind you that in-house colleagues rarely get: pitches to international media, launches across several markets at once, special projects and campaigns worth entering for industry awards.
You will be working next to people you can learn from. That is exactly why our most recent hires came — to get better at pitching, at strategy, at working with international clients — and they did.
Mistakes and gaps in knowledge are not punished here; they are discussed openly. We would rather you grew than always looked certain.
Remote work is organised, not improvised: an ERP, clear areas of responsibility, agreements written down.
This is probably not for you if “good enough” is good enough, if you expect a detailed brief for every task, or if your experience is mainly as a press officer at a state-owned company.
It is for you if you follow what is happening in the market, if you are ready to propose solutions yourself, and if you want to be noticeably stronger a year from now.
What you will do
The role combines PR and account management for your own group of clients: the client talks directly to the person who runs and delivers the project.
PR
- Finding and developing story angles.
- Writing and translating press releases, opinion pieces and comments — on your own or with a copywriter.
- Pitching media in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and beyond the region.
- Running special projects, working with bloggers and contractors, keeping quality and deadlines under control.
- Reporting on campaign results.
Account management
- Being the single point of contact for the client: status meetings, written agreements, urgent requests.
- Spotting new client needs and preparing proposals to extend the work.
- Paperwork, budget and profitability of your own projects.
- Helping prepare and present pitches to new clients.
What we are looking for
- At least 3 years in PR — agency or in-house, but with hands-on media experience of your own.
- Publications and campaigns you can show us.
- Knowledge of the Uzbek media market: the key newsrooms, journalists and formats. Kazakhstan or other markets in the region is a plus.
- Strong written Uzbek and Russian.
- English good enough for correspondence and calls with clients.
- The ability to talk to a client not only about what we are doing, but about why.
Nice to have
- Agency experience.
- Experience at a major technology company in the region, or at a venture fund.
You do not need to tick every box. You do need to know where your gaps are and want to close them.
Terms
- Full-time, remote.
- Location: Tashkent, or a close connection to it — a significant share of the clients and journalists you will work with are here.
- Flexible hours, within what you agree with clients and the team.
- Employment contract.
- Salary discussed after the interviews.
- Three-month probation period.
